Digitizing a pharmaceutical supply chain tool
Rethinking the digital experience from shop floor to top floor
Summary
A multinational pharmaceutical corporation underwent a global, digital transformation to better support the safe and efficient formulation and distribution of life-saving pharmaceuticals. Using a human-centered approach, I worked to uncover and creatively explore opportunities to streamline and improve the visualization of metrics and statuses that are used to track production metrics for a tool within their ecosystem.
Goal
The goal with this tool was to uncover and creatively explore opportunities to improve upon and further develop the digital experience regarding health status monitoring of equipment and systems. While doing this also provide user experience recommendations to support the continuous adoption, growth and improvement across the global manufacturing practice as a whole.

Approach
As a lead designer and design manager, I collaborated closely with the product team, to understand the application that handles machine sensor tracking and operating line statuses, to define requirements, and contribute to the crafting of a complete distribution tracking experience.
Sketching & Ideating

Visual Design
After sketching and wireframing key features, I was able to dive right into visuals. I leveraged components from a design system that was being established by other members of my team at the same time, and I also generated new components and patterns to help expand that system to fit the various applications.
Outcome
I successfully established a framework and navigational structure for the application, along with the addition of new features. During my time with this tool, I was able to:
